Thanks to the generous support of the K. M. Hunter Foundation, Crossroads International was able to render sexual and reproductive health and rights services available to tens of thousands of youths in the Kédougou region and make a positive difference in several communities.
At the baseline, almost no adolescent girl in the region had access to SRHR services, including modern forms of contraception. After awareness raising activities from DAMCAM and allocation of reproductive health kits to health centres, 22,216 women (5,748 adolescent girls), now have access to modern contraceptives and increased knowledge on prevention of sexually transmitted illnesses (STI), including HIV. The project also increased the capacity of 44 youth counseling centers and health structures to deliver quality SRHR services to adolescents and meet national environmental standards.
The closing ceremony was held on April 30th 2024 and provided an opportunity to present the results and successes of the DAMCAM project, thank its partners and participants, and officially conclude its activities. We’re proud of the work Crossroads International does and were thrilled to receive a copy of the photo album from the Closing Ceremonies which you can view here.
