Fighting poverty is not an easy battle because it forces us to look at the realities of life around us. For this reason, it’s incredibly important that we also focus on the work of organizations like the United Way of Greater Toronto, who help people like Asare.
As a young man, Asare found mentorship through a community program funded through the United Way. Now, he shows his local love by paying it forward, supporting drop-in centres like the one that helped Mike find a stable home.
It’s just one of the important reasons the K.M. Hunter Charitable Foundation supports the work of our local United Way. Because paying it forward matters!
